Gloryview Ranch occupies a magnificent 60 acres of land in Northern Arizona surrounded by the beautiful San Francisco Peaks, open prairies, stunning canyons, and the largest contiguous Ponderosa Pine forest in the world! At 6800 feet above sea level, the climate is near perfection. All seasons are fully enjoyed, none robbing time from another.
The unbeatable sunrises and sunsets dramatically herald the arrival and conclusion of each day. The creatures of the forest, canyons, mountains, and prairies surround us while the abundant birds sing in the greatest choir. I wish I could adequately describe it for you. Truly, the whole earth is full of the glory of the Lord!
But when we first arrived, the place was a shadow of its previous beauty! The property and buildings had been given limited attention for well over 2 years. The glorious potential of the ranch was increasingly more difficult to envision given the mountain of work it would take to reclaim. It is our honor to redeem the former glory. We clearly hear the call of Isaiah to beautify the sanctuary of the Lord.
Isaiah 60:13
“The glory of Lebanon shall come to you, the cypress, the plane, and the pine, to beautify the place of my sanctuary, and I will make the place of my feet glorious.”
The principle of maintenance is natural to most of us. Imagine investing in a new truck and never changing the oil, checking the brakes, shocks, bearings, or tires. We know what would happen if all we did was drive it (consume it) and ignored maintenance. It wouldn’t take long for the pieces to crumble until it just no longer functioned.
People are vastly more important than property and vehicles. The principle of care and stewardship are the same but with deeper impact. Marriage is a magnificent investment and glorious reflection of the heart of God.
Proverbs 18:22 wonderfully proclaims, “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.” The beauty and abundance of marriages excels and thrives with attention but fades with neglect.
